I thought for my first blog, I would let you know how our wedding dress photo shoot for the wedding dress on the Bridaltique web page came together.

So much planning went in to that day, with the big question being “what was my priority—so many things to consider?!”.  In the end it was location, location and location – aka the venue!

I wanted something with an amazing setting, or a fabulous stair case etc to help me get that fantastic shot to showcase our dresses.  Somewhere close, but without compromising the quality and professionalism of photos we needed.  We are so lucky to be close to The Woodhouse Barn, Rosemarket, Pembrokeshire virtually on our doorstep. www.woodhousebarn.com

It is a truly stunning wedding venue, constructed using wood collected from the Little Milford area, and crafted in to an unique wedding location.  The owners, Martin and Pat, were amazing and looked after me right from the onset. They genuinely couldn’t have been more helpful  As they were having a new staircase fitted in the first 3 months of 2024, the venue only became available to us in April.  In the interim, as I starting planning around that date, I went to look at the other things needed for the photoshoot.

Models, hairdressers and make up artists came next. We are lucky to have a close family member who had already done various kinds of modelling shoots, so with this connection, I was able to find two more models.

I really must thank Tanya, Carly and Lauren for being just amazing models on the day. We owe you so much !

In keeping with trying to find local talent and venues, Jess, our make up artist on the day, is local to Pembrokeshire, and someone to look out for in the future. At just 19 years of age, she has an amazing talent coupled with the entrepreneurship skill that will ensure she will be a successful business women.  So thank you so much, you can find her on instagram – jesskennifordmuax

The hair styles were created by Natalie, she created styles that were so elegant and sophisticated that I was just hugely impressed with their talent and skill.

With the hair, make up, and models done, the results created together were just perfect.

Last, but definitely not least, I needed to find the right photographer,.After quite a search I came across Rosie Prosser at www.mamentophotography.com

Again a local business lady who is truly dedicated to her profession, and has the calm and bubbly personality you need for a busy, full on, and often frantic, photo shoot!

She was just amazing at her craft.

With Rosie’s eye for location, detail, light and all things photography, I planned out the shoot locations  with her in advance i.e. where the mannequins should be placed, and how the models should be standing/ presented etc.,

As an end product I just totally adored the shots.  I also have to thank Rosie for her behind the scene photos, which have been fantastic addition to the social media promotion.

I had my family helping me behind the scenes. Getting the wedding dresses ready for the big photo shoot meant I really need to be fully organised. Over 100 products to consider.

All had to be fully pressed, identified, and covered with bags for the move to the photoshoot location. We had to ensure the dresses were kept clean, hanging clear obstructions or housekeeping challenges, whilst also minimising crushing and creasing.

Pressing up in advance is a two person job and takes time, one holds the dress and assists in the turning, with the other pressing/steaming the actual dress.  I found out quickly pressing is not the younger generation’s idea of fun!

As each dress was fully numbered and identified, hangers matched to the dress, Rosie photographed the hanger with the numbers on before starting to photo so I could keep track.

Also, and in preparation for the day we had to ensure we kept the whole team fed and hydrated from drinks to nibbles, carried stocks of shoes, belts, hair accessories, veils, gloves and glasses,  and very importantly of course, flowers. Both surrounding areas and hand held bouquets were available… I used a mixture of both real and artificial flowers, and feel it worked out well.

Overall, the wedding dress photo shoot went so well, and it was a truly memorable day.

I have certainly learnt how to arrange, prepare and organise for this the next time,

So once again thank you to all involved in this process – we could not have done it without you….
